Agency Ad Account Cost in 2026: Top-Up Fees vs. a Flat Monthly Fee

What an agency ad account really costs

TL;DR

  • Most agency ad account providers charge 3–8% of every top-up, and that fee grows with every dollar you scale.
  • Adfield charges one flat monthly fee with $0 top-up fees, and Meta bills your ad spend directly to your own card.
  • At $50,000 a month in Meta spend, a 4.5% top-up fee costs $2,250 a month, while Adfield Pro costs $699: $18,612 saved per year.
  • Plans start at $299/month. Adfield works within Meta's advertising policies and does not promise approvals or results it cannot control.

How agency ad account providers charge

If you buy media on Meta, you have probably compared agency ad account offers by their headline rate: 4%, 5%, 6%. That number is easy to compare, but it is not what you actually pay. Almost every offer fits one of three pricing models.

  • Percentage per top-up. You prepay ad spend and the provider keeps 3–8% of every deposit.
  • Monthly fee plus percentage. A fixed subscription, often around $150 a month, plus a smaller cut of each top-up.
  • Flat monthly fee. One fixed platform fee, with ad spend billed separately. This is how Adfield works.

The first two models are prepaid. On a $10,000 top-up with a 5% fee, $500 goes to the provider before a single ad runs. To compare any offer, add up the fixed monthly fee, your monthly spend multiplied by the top-up rate, and any setup fees. That total is your real cost.

What you actually pay at each spend level

Here is the monthly provider fee at six spend levels, comparing a typical 4.5% top-up fee with Adfield's flat fee. Your ad spend itself is the same in both columns. At every level, Adfield costs less.

  • $8,000

    4.5% top-up fee

    $360

    Adfield flat fee

    $299 (Essential)

  • $20,000

    4.5% top-up fee

    $900

    Adfield flat fee

    $699 (Pro)

  • $35,000

    4.5% top-up fee

    $1,575

    Adfield flat fee

    $699 (Pro)

  • $50,000

    4.5% top-up fee

    $2,250

    Adfield flat fee

    $699 (Pro)

  • $75,000

    4.5% top-up fee

    $3,375

    Adfield flat fee

    $699 (Pro)

  • $150,000

    4.5% top-up fee

    $6,750

    Adfield flat fee

    $1,299 (Elite)

The gap is even wider against other common models. At $50,000 a month, a $149 subscription plus 6% per top-up costs $3,149, and an 8% top-up fee costs $4,000. The percentage keeps growing as you scale, while your Adfield fee stays the same.

Yearly saving at $50K monthly spend

$18,612

A 4.5% top-up fee costs $27,000 a year. Adfield Pro costs $8,388 a year.

Based on a 4.5% top-up rate. Top-up rates vary by provider and can change.

The costs that never show up in the headline rate

The top-up percentage is only part of the bill. Before you sign up anywhere, ask about these five costs.

  • Minimum top-ups. Many providers require a first deposit of $500 to $1,000 before you can launch.
  • Cash locked in prepaid balances. If you keep two weeks of budget funded at $50,000 a month, about $25,000 of working capital sits idle in the ad account.
  • Your balance after a restriction. Ask in writing whether an unspent balance moves to a new account, gets refunded or is lost, and how long that takes.
  • Setup and replacement fees. Some offers charge per account opened, which adds up when you run many ad accounts.
  • Payment method costs. Wire transfers, crypto and currency conversion can add their own fees to every top-up.

With Adfield, none of these apply. There are no deposits, no prepaid balances and no top-up fees. Meta charges your own card after you spend, and your card statement is your proof of ad spend.

Isn't a percentage cheaper when you spend less

On paper, a low top-up rate can look a few dollars cheaper at very low spend. In practice, the headline rate leaves out what you actually pay for.

  • Minimum deposits. That first top-up leaves your account before a single ad runs.
  • Idle cash. Prepaid budget sits in the ad account instead of in your business.
  • Growth. Every time you scale, a percentage fee scales with you. A flat fee does not, so when your campaigns work, you keep the upside.

That is why media buyers choose Adfield even at lower spend. Essential costs $299 a month for up to $8,000 in spend and includes unlimited ad accounts, Business Managers and Pages, with no deposits and no long-term contract. You know your cost upfront, and it stays the same as you grow.

Agency ad accounts still follow Meta's rules

An agency ad account does not exempt you from Meta's rules. Every ad is still reviewed against Meta's Advertising Standards, whoever manages the account. Be wary of any provider that sells "no bans" or markets itself for policy-breaking offers.
